Look I am by no means an EPL hater, actually a Man United supporter for almost 40 years! However some current fans seem to have this narrative that any player who does well outside the PL is good just because they play on a "farmers league", it is disresoectful to other countries and here is a bit of reality:
Historically only ONE EPL team is considered a top 5 team all time (liverpool), and outside of them and Man United no EPL can seat at a table with R Madrid, Barca, Bayern Munich, AC Milan, Inter, Ajax, etc.
The current CL champions PSG is from "farmers league" lige 1, they beat 3 EPL teams in a row in the knockout stages to get to the final.
Erling Halaand, the striker who has been destroying the PL for 4 seasons in a row (top scorer twice and likely adding a third this year) came from "farmers league" Bundesliga, the year he was not the top scorer, two out the of 3 top scorers (Halaand and Isak) came from farmers leagues in Germany and France.
The 6 most expensive EPL teansfers this season before coming to England played in the "farmer leagues" from France and Germany.
The English National Team, comprised of 95% EPL players has not won the world cup since 1966!
No english player has won the balon dor in more than 25 years! And only 3 players from the EPL have won it this century!
So yeah, the EPL is great for the neutral fan because relegation sides are better thab relegation sides elsewhere and because tackling is still allowed in England, but please stop disrespecting other european leagues and overrating the EPL so much! Because the top talent in the premiership actualy came from those leagues and in the Champions League teams from those leagues more often than not beat the English teams..just enjoy the EPL and aknowledge that there are good players all over Europe.
