Hey everyone, just wanted to share a cautionary tale from my flight to Brazil with LATAM.

Mid-flight, I plugged my iPhone into the seat's USB port to charge. When I went to check it a bit later, the phone was stuck in a reboot loop.

I told the crew, they said they added that to the flight report and that I should complain at their airport booth when I l landed. At the airport, they said they couldn't do anything in person and that I had to handle it by phone.

After trying many things I went to the apple store, who said there was some short circuit and my phone was dead. Since I had apple care they luckily gave me a new phone for free. (though I lost a lot of data) Having dealt with LATAM’s phone support in the past, I was not in the mood to spend again hours on the phone for nothing, but I wanted to share here what happened.

I wonder if this has happened to anyone as well. Hope not, and ofc I will never again use those ports to charge anything

Just wanted to share a frustrating experience with Eurowings (Lufthansa Group) today.

I was trying to check in via the app and website, but the system wouldn't let me proceed without selecting and paying for a seat. There was no option for the standard free random assignment.

I called their support line (+49 221 59988222) for help. The agent told me—and I quote—"You have to pay for a seat in order to check in; some flights don't offer free seats." This is a blatant lie. According to their own fare conditions, a seat is always assigned for free if you don't reserve one. I hung up, waited a few minutes, and tried the app again—surprise, surprise, it worked perfectly and assigned me a free seat.

Be careful if you're told you must pay to check in. It seems like their support agents are either poorly trained or actively encouraged to provide "dark pattern" misinformation to hit sales targets.
