Hello! I’ve decided I want to get a breast augmentation with motiva ergonomix implants over the muscle. I have a surgeon I like in the east coast city I live in now but I’m moving to a nearby one (1.5 hours by train) for grad school in August (classes start in early September). Over the summer, I’ll be staying with my parents for a couple of months and potentially doing some hiking trips with my mom.
I was planning on getting my BA done in early June so that I would be healed and ambulatory by the time I’m moving in late June. I’m hiring movers so that I won’t be lifting any heavy furniture and I’ll try to minimize any other lifting that I have to do. But while I’ll be physically healed by then, I’m worried I won’t be able to conceal my BA from my parents if I am with them for two months, particularly if I am still swollen. It being the summer makes this more complicated as well. I am hoping to blame the change on a new form of birth control and just wear looser clothing around them since I’m going for a fairly modest one, around 250-300cc. So then the question becomes if I should get an apartment in early August, take the train to my surgeon, spend a night or two in a hotel in my current city, and then take the train back up to my new apartment and finish healing there. Then I would have it done by the start of grad school (which is a must) and I wouldn’t see my parents until the fall/winter, so I could wear baggier clothes and I wouldn’t be around them for as long. I also think even if they do find out eventually, having it be less recent and while I’m already in grad school would make them less mad (since they are helping me with some living costs for grad school, but I’m using my own savings for the procedure).
The other option is to find a new surgeon in the new city, which has a slightly lower COL so the procedure might be a bit cheaper. I just really like my current surgeon, but she is the only one I’ve done a consultation with.
What should I do?? Here are the two potential timelines:
Late may/early June: get the procedure done in my current city
Late June: move out of my apartment
July/early August: stay with my parents, potentially do some traveling with them
Late august/early September: move to the new city, do a checkup with my doctor
OR
Late June: move out of my apartment
July: spend time with my parents, stress free and not trying to hide my boobs while in summer clothing
Early August: move to the new city (might be hard to explain why I want to get there so early, will have to pay for a few weeks more rent than the other option)
Also early/mid August: go back down to my current city, get the procedure done, this would be more difficult due to the travel and I will probably still have some furniture to put together in my new apartment but the basics will be there
Mid-late August: recover by myself in the new city
Early September: start classes, potentially only 2-3 weeks after my surgery. This means my scars will be more fresh and obvious if I sleep with someone and I’m worried that they would end up telling people in our class in grad school about it and it becomes a rumor. But the scars will still be there even if I get it done in June (I’m getting it in the fold under my breast)
I know this is a long post but please help! I’m telling one person in my life that I’m doing this and it’s a long distance friend. Otherwise I want to keep it completely secret, and I know that recovering on my own will be kind of difficult, but I don’t have anyone who can take care of me so it’s my only option.
