...sigh.

If it seems like I'm heated in this, it's probably because I kind of am considering how often this kind of thing occurs. I might try to lighten up on the wording a bit sometime later.

So a customer ordered almond milk for her frappucino and as the drink was blending, I went over to the register area to clarify with her if she wanted whip. My coworker was next to me, waiting for her pay. This random customer, then proceeded to try and place her order when I was waiting to ask the other customer about if she wanted whipped cream. I'm dead serious. I didn't have a register in front of me, I was only near one. My coworker was at the register. The hand off was between this interrupting customer and I. This pissed me off beyond belief becsuse for some reason, things like this keep happening.

I nor anyone else can ring you up from the bar, at the hand off, near the ovens, or anywhere else where a register is inaccessible. Stop trying to place your order in the most random of places! I do not give a flying ⚪ ⚪ ⚪ ⚪ if you are in a hurry, I'm trying to communicate with a customer about something somewhat important. I am not going to skip over that interaction and take your bloody order with my nonexistent register.

I made the impatient customer's drink. She stared at me the entire time. I try to be cordial in these posts but I can't emphasize how pissed off I am at this... Sudden consistency of customers ordering at random places or basically anywhere that's not the dang register. The frappucino customer wasn't the nicest either BUT at least she didn't do what this other customer did.

You're an adult. You're going to order at the register like every other person does. I. Do. Not. Care. If. You're. In. A. Hurry. You HAVE to wait. You saw me maintain eye contact with the frappucino customer. Not you. I was waiting for my turn to ask the frappucino customer my question. I have seen better manners from a CHILD and a TEENAGER.

Stop ordering at anywhere that's not a register. I cannot help you if you do this. Just because I am next to my coworker doesn't mean I'm available to take your order. You CAN wait.

I'm sorry. This has become a massive pet peeve of mine. I might clean up this post later.

Moral of the story: if a bathroom door (or any door) is not opening, it isn't a signal to keep trying to vigorously turn the knob like your life depended on it... Also, this might be a bit petty to vent about. I know the customer didn't mean anything nefarious by this.

I had just ended my shift the day this happened and went to the bathroom before I left. As I'm in the bathroom, I hear someone try to open the door and after failing to open it once, they start to aggressively try and turn the knob. I could have not said anything, but they only stopped when I verbally said, "Please stop trying to open the door, there's someone in here." Again, I recognize that the person trying to open the door didn't have malicious intent but... Good freaking God, it scared me. Probably a lot more than it should have but, alas, I am glad they stopped a soon as I started talking.

Edit: Yes I'm aware it's a part of the job. This is rhetorical.

That's it. That's the post. I'm not talking about those with headphones on, potential hearing issues, or being on the phone. Primarily the ones who come in and can clearly hear you. This is such a petty thing for me to get bugged about but eh...
