Hi everyone,

I’m upgrading from an RTX 4080 to an ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5080 in a few days, but I have a question regarding my GPU cable setup.

Right now I’m using this Lian Li Strimer Plus V2 cable with my RTX 4080:

It’s the 12VHPWR (12+4 to 3x8-pin) version.

My PSU is an EVGA SuperNOVA P5 1000W Platinum, and the cable has been working perfectly with my 4080.

My question is:

• Is this Strimer still fully compatible/safe with an RTX 5080 (especially the ASUS ROG Astral)?
• Or would you recommend removing it and just using the stock ASUS cable/adapter instead?
• Has anyone here used this exact Strimer with a 5080 already?

I’ve heard mixed things about 12VHPWR vs 12V-2x6 and I just want to make sure everything is safe before installing the new GPU.
