Please help!!
This has been a long road - I am in month 26 of estimated 12 month treatment time. Some back story - I sustained a bilateral jaw fracture from an MVA back in 2011 and was wired shut for 7 weeks, wore a splint for 8 years til it broke and then have suffered with extreme TMJ issues ever since. Prior to MVA, my bottom teeth were straight but my two front teeth were not. Right tooth overlapped over left. After wires came off, all teeth shifted. After I stopped wearing the splint the bottom moved all over the place and I could barely look at myself. To make a long story short I started Invisalign in Jan 2022 and am on my 4th ortho due to office turn over.
I still don’t think the front teeth are right! The tooth with the attachment still looks like it needs rotated and also needs to be pushed back. I saw the ortho and he indicated it was in place but it was the shape that was off. He did an enamelplasty and evened the length out but I still don’t think it looks right. He said I can get bonding among other things to fix it. I was rescanned for another set of refinements for the bottom, but he said the top is finished. I have no problem getting bonding and planned on it regardless bc the first ortho IPR’d the tooth so much it’s noticeably thinner than the other. Every time I see this tooth I get aggravated - probably bc they overlapped my whole life and made me so self conscious and then all the trauma I have suffered - I just want them perfect.
I also realize my midline is way off - hoping a new splint will help fix this some - but I cant start tmj splint therapy until I finish this. 😩😩
Am I over reacting ?
How do I relay these feelings to my ortho?
