So my friend got a €500 Wunderschön voucher as a wedding gift. It was printed twice by accident and left in the office. Someone stole it before she could grab it.
She filed a police report. They found the vouchers were deposited into a Zalando account created in the name of a specific coworker—same department, same floor. But here’s the thing: the vouchers were never actually used/redeemed.
Today the DA (Amtsanwaltschaft Berlin) sent a letter dropping the case because:
• They can’t 100% prove he created the account (anyone could’ve used his name)
• The vouchers weren’t used, so “not enough concrete evidence”
• Too many employees had access to the printer
• No witnesses
But like… he literally works in the same department. The vouchers are literally in an account with his name. How is that not enough?
Can we file a Beschwerde or do private prosecution? Is it even worth hiring a lawyer for this? This feels like they’re giving up too easy.
