Hey guys, so I (19F) need some advice lol. I started talking to this guy (25M) online and at first it was actually really nice. He messaged me first, we had fun conversations, a little flirty but nothing weird, and we even hopped on a few calls. He seemed genuinely sweet and respectful so I didn’t think much of it. But then we added each other on instagram and when I actually looked through his profile I was kind of shocked. He looks really different from what I expected. Like his body type, his face, just his whole appearance doesn’t really match the picture he had up before. I don’t want to be mean about it but I just felt this immediate “oh” moment and honestly I haven’t been able to shake it since. What makes it more stressful is that he lives in the same area as me. So it’s not like I can just quietly fade out and never think about it again. He’s still trying to talk to me and I don’t know how to handle it without making things super awkward, especially since there’s a chance we could run into each other at some point. I know attraction isn’t everything but it’s also not nothing, you know? I just don’t feel it anymore and I don’t want to lead him on. Has anyone dealt with something like this before? How do you end things nicely without it turning into a whole thing, especially when the person lives close by? Please help me out on this ASAP
