I hello guys I am very new to Ibanez and was wondering what does these to things do?

I tried to screw it back and forth but nothing seems to change or noticable. Also for this type of bridge can I adjust the string height on each individual strings or the only way to setup the string action is to screw on either side of the bridge? Thank you guys in advance.
