fleece cleaning advice

Hello! I recently found this sheep fleece discarded in ones of the fields i work by. i’ve only cleaned small quantities of raw fleece before so this is pretty extreme for me. i’m not sure on the sheep breed but a lot of the fleece seems to have a decent length staple and crimp so i’m hoping it’s spinable, if not it was free so it’s not a huge deal.

there’s plenty of manure tags which have caused maggots since i’m not sure how long the fleece was left out.

i currently have a test piece on the go using half tap hot water and boiling water

any advice is appreciated! the last photo is the scour i’m using

finished 2ply angora yarn, around 50g and 165m. i’m thinking of making the little dot bandana by purl soho. i can’t get over how soft it is!

got some angora yarn at the yarndale festival last year and this is my first time spinning it on a wheel. i started this on a drop spindle and just transferred it over. it’s taking some getting used to tension wise, it’s definitely an interesting spin
