Am I wasting my time?

I am about to enter my second year of my undergraduate degree and I am majoring in Work & Labour Studies. I’m considering opting in for co-op and extending my degree for another year but my final goal is law school and becoming a Employment Lawyer.

I want to experience what careers in HR and Labour Relations are like but i’m not sure if its worth extending my degree for another year since i’m already planning on pursuing another 3 year degree for law.

Would appreciate any advice you guys have!

I have been looking into in-house legal roles and asked a couple people about their experiences and from what I’ve heard its perfect for work-life balance, earning a solid salary, and insane benefits.

From my in-house people, is there truly any disadvantages to taking on an in-house role vs other routes?

I just finished my first year and realized my next year is going to be the most hectic year ive ever had. I’m gonna be a high level exec in two societies, working a job, launching my start-up, and managing a full-time course-load.

I am actually excited for all of these opportunities but my friends seem shocked whenever I tell them the things I have planned and I’m wondering if this is actually a lot to take on.

I am starting a platform for law students and law firms that I believe could change the landscape of legal recruiting and networking in Canada but I don’t know how I should get the top law firms to work with me on this because it is very dependent on getting their sponsorship.

Anyone here know how I can break into the biglaw market and grab the attention of these firms to be able to pitch my idea to them? If I can get my foot in the door I know they will love my idea.
