Don’t want to get into details but the union really pulled through for me today and got me a win on a grievance I filed awhile back. Just wanted to anonymously say thanks to my union brothers and sisters for having my back.

To all of you out there, file those grievances and have your union brothers and sisters backs at all times.

For context I am a cover driver working preload.

This morning after working preload when I was leaving the building I saw lower seniority cover drivers coming in to drive meanwhile I had to load. I was being told these past couple weeks I had to come into preload and I was being scheduled for it.

These lower seniority cover drivers are working 5 days a week.

Is this grievable?

I’m not sure how it works when it comes to cover drivers.

As a cover driver if I am not told the day prior that I am scheduled to work can they call and tell me one hour before the start time that I have to come in? It’s really annoying not knowing if I’m going to have to work until an hour before start time.

How do I know when they are calling me in if I’m scheduled or not? Can I get in trouble for not coming in if I’m not scheduled that day?

I guess my main question is how much notice are they required to give me about if I’m scheduled to work a certain day or not?
