I know this question sounds pretty dumb, but pls hear me out.

https://www.reddit.com/r/SwiftlyNeutral/comments/1i4jtzg/a_timeline_of_taylor_and_katy_perrys_feud/

Today smh i randomly thought about the feud between Taylor and Katy a decade ago and actually spend my time reading every single slide in this thread.

When i got to the part that said "Taylor released-her-music-back-on-spotify the day Katy released her album", i hardly even reacted to that. I genuinely don't understand why is that a matter: Taylor Swift has her own listeners, and Katy Perry has hers. While their audiences might overlap, if Perry's music is good and her fans are loyal or wtv, well, her album could still do well. I have always believed there are enough room for everyone.

I was kinda surprised to see a lot of comments emphasizing how much 'diabolical' and 'crazily petty' of hers to do that.

The same goes with what she does with other artists, like with Billie Eilish. The one time i do understand the 'pettiness' is the Deja Vu incident.

And while this sounds like a stupid question, can someone please explain and enlighten this for me? I probably don't follow pop culture enough to get this. Also English is not my first language, please forgive me if i made any mistake.
