My dog is better behaved when I do nose work with him but the games we have aren’t challenging enough. I’ve done a specific treat (tripe) in a metal tin, and I’ve hidden treats around the house and yard, but I’ve run out of hiding spots inside.
I was thinking of buying a nose work kit and course with the birch, clove, etc.
I think I’ve read here that some of you do more hunting related scents like animal…somethings?
Please let me know what you do for your intermediate hounds!
EDIT TO ADD: really just looking for specific scents that folks have used (that aren't kibble or regular treats) and if anyone has experience doing any online courses or something of that nature. Using the traditional AKC scents like anise, birch, clove or with animal scents - I'm open to any. I have the protocol down already on how to get him to search on command- we've been working on this skill for about 8 months - he's just getting bored with the current games/hiding spots. My yard and home are smallish.
