I work in a IT and lately I’ve been feeling really overwhelmed with work.

It just feels like a constant stream of tasks with no real break. Even when I try to stay on top of things, more keeps coming in from different directions. On paper it might seem manageable, but in reality it’s mentally exhausting and never really stops.

There are multiple things I’m expected to handle at the same time, and a lot of context switching between tasks. I’ve been pushing through for a while, but it’s starting to affect me more than I expected.

I’m not sleeping properly, I feel stressed most of the time, and even weekends don’t really help me reset. I don’t feel like I’m recovering at all.

On top of that, I’m also dealing with some personal stuff right now, which is making everything feel heavier.

I’ve tried raising concerns about workload, but the expectation is still to manage it, and I feel like I’m hitting a limit.

I’m starting to think about taking some time off just to recover, but I’m not sure how that usually plays out or what to expect.

If my doctor can write stress leave, I hope the EI I receive is enough for paying rent.
