[binghatti] 9-Month Delay: Seeking Advice on Compensation and DLD/RERA Escalation
Hi everyone,
I’m an investor in a project in jaddaf by Binghatti. My pre delivery installments are nearly finished, but I’ve just discovered the project has been delayed from June 2026 to March 2027. Binghatti has been silent on this officially, only communicating for payment reminders.
my capital is now sitting idle for an extra 9 months without the expected rental ROI or use of the property. I am looking for advice specifically on:
Legal Compensation: Has anyone successfully claimed "Loss of Use" or rental compensation from Binghatti (or similar developers) for delays of this scale?
DLD/RERA Experience: If you’ve filed a formal complaint with the Dubai Land Department for construction delays, what was the outcome? Did they help mediate a settlement?
The "Grace Period": My SPA likely has a grace period, but a 9-month shift feels like a breach of transparency. Are there grounds to contest this via the RDC (Rental Disputes Center)?
