Anybody here play organized sports in your school years. I played (I say that loosely) football in high school and I remember the coaches having some zingers, especially my offensive line coach.

Head Coach if somebody was really bad: "Get off the field, you're killin' the grass!"

My Offensive Line Coach's zingers:

  • Somebody jacked got beat bad in a drill: "Looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane"
  • Wide receiver in a special teams drill called himself Superman; the response: "Nah, more like Hancock"
  • In my sophomore year, one of my fellow senior lineman mentioned that Spongebob was airing on MTV at midnight at the time. Coach must've overheard that because it was a bad practice day and we weren't leaving till we got our reps right. He said "We'll stay here all night and watch Spongebob together." Only he could make that sentence sound like a threat.

I hated the practices, I never looked forward to them but now I would give up almost everything to have a body that could take that kind of physicality and be able to workout that hard again. Not that I would necessarily use my body for that now but I'd like to have the option.

Your coaches have zingers or did you play against anybody that made it pro?

It feels strange and awful to see most pro athletes are now younger than you.
