Laptop time skipping/freezing in BIOS & Windows + No Internet + Power State Failure
My laptop is experiencing a bizarre combination of time-sync issues and power management failures. It started with the Wi-Fi showing "No Internet, Secured" despite being connected. I eventually noticed the system clock was "skipping" (advancing 60 seconds in only 40 seconds of real time sometimes 2 mins in 1 min irl). Now, the laptop refuses to shut down properly; the power LED stays on, and I have to perform a static discharge (unplug + 30s power button hold) just to get it to boot again.
Symptoms Observed
Clock Drift: Even after manually setting the time, the clock runs fast or skips ahead.
BIOS Freeze: In the BIOS menu, the system clock is often completely stuck/frozen.
Network: No internet access
Power Failure: Selecting "Shut Down" keeps the power indicator lit, requiring a hard hard-reset to reboot.
What I’ve Already Tried
CMOS Battery: Replaced with a brand-new battery.
BIOS: Manually corrected time in BIOS (it drifted or froze again shortly after).
Network Troubleshooting: Restarted network adapters, re-assigned IP via CMD, and flushed DNS.
Time Sync: Attempted re-syncing via w32tm commands in CMD.
Drivers: Checked
Static Discharge: Drained the laptop to get it to post after "fake" shutdowns.
