Let’s start with the wrong ask. Someone that has had throat surgery might use one of those tracheotomy modulators to speak, but that is a large and bulky piece. Almost as large as a microphone. But, it purposefully vibrates the throat with a modulated sound.
Growing up, and yes I am mumblemumble years old, I watched the tv series V. The aliens had a modulation to their voices, which sure it was done in post production, however that is what I am looking for.
I have looked in the past for voice changers, usually they’re something you hold in front of your mouth to make your voice sound like a robot or cackling witch. I did find something that I did like, it was the mask for Buzz Lightyear’s bad guy, Zurg. But it was a plastic mask, with the microphone right in front of the mouth. I tried disassembling it, maybe move the mike to the side or something. But it had a flaw, when it was turned on it would have a “start up sequence”, and I couldn’t get past that. Still mad my voice how I wanted it though.
What I’m hoping for is like a choker, which would go right over my larynx, and would add a little something while I’m speaking. Anyone know what I’m looking for?
