Disclosed to a partner that I have GHSV1
I caught GHSV-1 from the last person I was seeing, I had a really bad first outbreak. I’ve been talking to a guy for the last couple of weeks and we’ve went on 6 dates so far, today i decided I had to disclose to him before things went any further, I sent him a message saying “ this is really difficult for me as this is the first time I’ve ever had to disclose to someone, but I have genital HSV-1, and I caught it from the last person I was seeing from oral contact, I wasn’t given the option to make a decision when I got it so I want to be able to give you the choice”. He opened my message and didn’t respond, I guess it’ll continue happening with guys until I meet someone that doesn’t care about that stuff, at least I can walk away knowing I was honest about this and didn’t lie and try to hide it and put him at risk of contracting it.
