Applied for what I thought was a job with Bonnell Aluminum for an Order Processing Clerk. I've been on so many sites I don't recall which one, but I think it was on LinkedIn. My first "interview" was via Teams chat. A bit odd but with all of the AI these days I continued forward. The questions were inane (see below) and again I passed them off as just an initial sorting process not uncommon with a large company.
Today I had a phone interview. The person in Teams chat was not a native English speaker (I'm a grammar nerd), and the person I talked to on the phone definitely wasn't. Again the questions were inane and he didn't seem terribly concerned about my answers. Within 30 minutes I got a "job offer" and there was no actual interview where I had opportunity to ask questions about the company. The offer letter is poorly formatted and has no details about the alleged benefits. Fishy and fishier. But they helpfully attached a blank W4 and i9 for me to provide them with all my personal identification.
Yeah no.
Chat questions:
What method(s) do you use to track customer’s orders from start to delivery?
Which database application system have you worked with?
How do you ensure that the data you enter is accurate?
How would you improve our current process for order fulfillment?
If you are responsible for the nondelivery of an order, what steps do you take to redress the problem?
I checked the company website. There's no "order processing clerk" in current job openings and nothing that's 100% remote.
Anybody else run into anything like this?
