Is this ok in Bracket 3

I went for my first Commander night in the LGS for over a year. Played with a pod of 3 strangers. Pre game discussion was: 'bracket 3 casual ish'
I was playing Kolodin Boros Vehicles, pretty much pushed to the max with no combos. I built the deck because I fell in love with the Warhammer Vehicles and Push the Limit from playing Aetherdrift limited.

Game 2 I drop a turn 3 Metalworker and on turn 4 my hand is 4 artifacts and the new Ugin from Tarkir Dragonstorm. So I have a turn 4 Ugin. I tick him up immediately and the table tells me my deck isn't bracket 3 because that is busted. I agree it is strong, and basically the strongest opening my deck is capable of - I got lucky. One player with a flier refuses to attack into my Ugin so that I can ult and win with my whole deck of hasty vehicles animated by my Commander on turn 6 and they use that as 'proof' my deck isn't bracket 3.

I feel that because they had multiple points to stop me, and because I had the god draw and no tutors - that my deck is fine in Bracket 3, I think it is purely because Metalworker is expensive and they are immature, narcissistic and salty - and no other reason.
Ugin had to sit on the table for 2 full turn cycles and I won with combat damage, not a combo.
I love my Metalworker, I opened it in a booster in 1999 when I was at school, and I struggle to find a home for it. I thought my janky Boros vehicles bracket 3 - with no gamechangers was a fine home for it - am I wrong?
