Am I part of the problem?

I play Arc Raiders with my wife, who doesn’t enjoy PvP, so we naturally developed a cautious, sustainability-focused playstyle instead of constantly chasing fights. We avoid unnecessary engagements, defend ourselves when needed, and focus on extracting consistently rather than burning through kits on Stella Montis.

Ironically, this worked extremely well: we rarely died, had plenty of resources, finished workshop upgrades quickly, and still enjoyed the tension that PvP adds to the game.

What I don’t understand is why the devs seem to consider this playstyle “undesirable” because PvP-heavy players run out of resources faster. If you constantly fight and lose gear, resource shortages seem like a natural consequence.

So should players like us expect the game to increasingly force PvP in order to sustain the PvP-focused crowd?
