Hey! I'm a beginner video editor working in DaVinci Resolve and I'm looking for real projects to build my portfolio. I'm offering to edit documentary style videos completely free — all I ask is permission to use the finished piece in my portfolio.

What this covers:

  • 3D map animations — animated location reveals, route paths, and geographic visuals
  • Sound effects — adding SFX to match the mood and pacing of the footage
  • Motion design elements — clean, premium looking titles, transitions, and visual accents
  • Data animations — graphs building up, counters counting, stats animating on screen
  • Interview and B-roll sequencing
  • Background music and ambient sound layering

This works great if you have raw footage from a short documentary, a mini-doc for your brand, a travel video, a behind the scenes shoot, or any footage that tells a narrative. If you've been sitting on raw clips and just haven't had time to piece them together — that's exactly what I'm looking for.

I'm honest about being a beginner but I take the work seriously and I'm open to feedback and revisions. Small and simple projects are preferred so I can give it proper attention.

Comment below or DM me if you're interested. Happy to talk through your footage before we commit.

Thanks!

I’ve been learning motion design using DaVinci Resolve (Fusion) and recently started focusing on SaaS-style UI animations.

I tried to keep things clean with smooth transitions, but I’m not sure if my pacing, easing, and overall polish are at a good level yet.

Here are two of my recent works:

I’d really appreciate honest feedback — especially on what looks weak or unprofessional and what I should improve next.

I’m aiming to improve in clean UI animation, product explainer style, and smooth transitions.

Would this level be good enough to start getting clients, or do I still need to improve before reaching out?

Any honest feedback is appreciated.

I’ve learned the basics of DaVinci Resolve, including Fusion nodes and some motion graphics.

I’m trying to move into SaaS-style motion design (clean UI animations, product explainer videos), but I’m stuck on what to learn next.

Here’s my first UI-style edit using some 3D elements:

I’ve noticed there aren’t many detailed tutorials for this style using DaVinci, so I’m unsure how to progress further.

What skills should I focus on next to reach a professional level in SaaS/product-style motion graphics?
Should I focus more on design principles (UI/UX, typography, layout), or start learning other tools alongside Resolve?

Also, if you’ve been in a similar position, what helped you improve the most?

Any guidance or resources would really help.
