I have hyper-mobility in my feet and am looking for recommendation for running shoes based on the requirements from my podiatrist.

As the title says i went to my local podiatrist and we found out that while I have hyper-mobility, it is the strongest in my feet and ankles.

I was jogging 3/4 days a week 5k/8k regularly and I was always limping at the end of it. Now I haven't jogged in 2 to 3 years because it was to painful. But I would really like to get back into it.

The podiatrist said my feet are:

Wide feet, heel pad irritation

And the requirements I should look for are:

  • Lace closure
  • Sufficient toe room
  • Wider outsold
  • Sturdy/Firm midsole
  • Flexible outsole (~1.2 cm)
  • Good roll-off (toe-off/gait transition)
  • Heel height: 2.5 - 4 cm

I run only on forest trails. Price: Around 200 to 300 euro. I don't really mind spending more, I would rather have less pain.

I would love to hear about anything you guys would recommend. Thanks in advance!
