11 month progress, starting new stack…
As pictured are my 1 month, 6 month, and ~11 month progress pictures…
I would have never let my balding progress to the point that I did, but I had some bad reactions to topical minoxidil in my mid-20’s and figured I’d have to live with being bald. I wore hats for years until last year when I attempted embracing the bald look… my scalp started burning in the sun and hat tan lines look terrible on bald heads… so I did research.
I immediately started taking 1mg Finasteride. After narrowing down what could possibly cause allergic reactions, I found a minoxidil foam that was gentle on my scalp. Almost a year later and I’m happy with my results.
Stack last 11 months:
-1.0mm dermaroller 1-2x/weekly (every 4-5 days)
-1mg Finasteride (oral) 1x/daily
-5% Equate minoxidil foam 1-2x daily
Although I’m happy with my results, I have tons of vellus hair in both my temple and crown areas that I believe can gain density. I’ve read tons of posts about converting to Dutasteride and men wishing they had done it sooner. I also feared losing some of the efficacy of topical minoxidil as my hair grows longer, as well as currently working at a job site that requires hard hats. Long story short, I broke down and visited a dermatologist who was both impressed with my results but agreed there’s still room for improvement.
So my current stack that I just started 05/06/2026 is as follows:
-1.0mm dermaroller 1-2x/weekly
-0.5mg dutasteride (oral)1x/daily
-2.5mg minoxidil (oral) 1x/daily
-10,000mcg biotin (oral) 1x/daily
-5% Equate minoxidil foam 1x/daily applied to temples only
Will follow up in 6 months after I re-visit my dermatologist. Good luck to all my balding brothers in this journey with me
