My bf is in his 30s and has never really done skincare before. Just water and mild soap sometimes. He washes his face in the morning and before bed but doesn't know if that even counts as a routine.

Lately, he's noticed his skin looks more textured and kind of dull. He knows the basics are facial wash and moisturizer but hasn't really tried those yet. I can't even help him because I only do facial wash and moisturizers.

We aren't looking for medical advice. We just want to know what products or steps would help. Like, what does a simple beginner routine need? And how do you tell if something is working?
