How does the VA collect overpayments?

Good morning. I’m currently in the National Guard (separating at the end of this year) and also receiving VA disability pay from my time on active duty. I know I owe the VA backpay from my drill days and am wondering what type of payment plan/reductions they offer? Curious to hear what people have set up with them. I am prepared to pay it all back in full if necessary, but if they can spread it out to payments that would be ideal. Thanks!

Seeking advice from someone with car leasing experience

Hey all. Just what the title says. I’m looking for someone with experience leasing or even a dealer that can talk me through this. I signed my first lease on a truck a little over six months ago and have been in turmoil since because I regret it. I’d like to explore options but would love if someone was open to having me message them privately. No judgement please, I’m already beating myself up.

How bad is credit affected for canceling?

I’ve had my platinum card since 2020 and used to be active military so I didn’t have to pay the annual fee. This is the first year I’ve had to pay it, and I honestly didn’t even realize it was coming. Since getting out of the military, I don’t travel nearly as much as I used to, and I’m not using any benefit besides the lululemon and digital entertainment credit. I don’t see $900 a year being worth it for me to keep this card open. The only worry I have though is that I only have one credit card older than this, at nine years open.

This one is my second oldest at six years. If I close it, what does that look like for my credit?

EDIT: I do have an AMEX gold as well that’s been open for 2.5 years, not planning on closing that

Home buying price range?

Hey everyone! We are looking to purchase a home in the next 12-24 months. We are located in Florida and I am a veteran with a full VA loan we will be using.

At the time of purchase, here’s what we’ll be looking at:

- 1 baby, hopefully second on the way sometime after buying

- 1 car payment, financing an estimated $650-$850

- Bills: $1,250 monthly on high end (not including utilities or other home expenses, looking at what kind of house we can afford)

- no other debt

~$170k gross income (~$145k net)

~$65k savings (using some of this as down payment)

Not sure what else I’m missing but think we’re potentially looking at a home in the range of $450k-$525k? Is that reasonable?

Hey all. Before I get into it, just know I’m already beating myself up. I know Reddit isn’t always the place for kind advice, but if y’all could refrain from the harsh comments my mental health would appreciate it, lol.

Anyway. I’m 29 years old and 6 months ago leased my very first truck. 3 years and 36k miles. Brand new and my literal dream. My wife was fully supportive, we have never leased before, but owned our other two cars after financing. I traded in one of them to help with the lease. We still have the other and will for a while!

We have 0 debt, and am currently living in a home where we do not pay rent at all (we are blessed). We are hoping to buy a bigger house in summer 2028, and we have our first baby coming in Feb 2027.

Right now, the $510 a month lease payment is absolutely fine. We are in an awesome situation where it doesn’t break us at all, and it’s our only “debt”. What I’m freaking out over though is the future.

I’m spiraling. I feel like I just completely ruined our life. Please help me figure out how to better this.
