Story Blurb:
In a future where Earth has been colonized by an advanced humanoid alien civilization, 16-year-old Numi Selene DeVillier’s lives her days praying to escape Earth, to the stars, to anywhere but the watchful eyes of men.
Illegitimate and scornful, her entire existence has been up for debate. Whether that be her neighbors, her father’s ex-wife, or the Kalerian empire’s annual ritual, The Repentance. A deadly competition in which drafted citizens from the planetal colonies are forced to re-live the wars that brought their ancestors to ruin.
After a sudden act of defiance, she and four others across earth find themselves drafted for The Repentance. With every step, Numi is reminded of her place as a bastard child. One cannot simply outsmart Kaleria, but as the hidden threads of their tyranny unravels in the simulation, Numinsa discovers a terrifying rage hidden inside of her. Rage that if left unchecked, will cost Numi her life.
They've conquered Earth, they've destroyed her mother's home, but she'll be damned if they take her soul.
Trigger Warnings: Mention of genocide(s), YA appropriate violence and death, derogatory language towards women, and colorism.
* The type of feedback I'm looking for is character voice, noticeable themes and if the execution was delivered well, if plot/story structure/pacing is developed well. And if my MC is well-written/develops with the story in a well-structured manner.
* As for critique swap availability I believe this means swapping stories with another author which if so, I am open anytime! If not please let me know so I may edit this post as this is my first time here.
