Indian fragrance YouTubers are killing the hobby by recommending the same 10 fragrances on loop
Anyone else noticed this?
Open any Indian fragrance YouTube channel and the recommendations are basically the same rotation:
Sauvage (every video, every list), Bleu de Chanel, Aventus or CDNI, Dylan Blue, JPG Le Male, Khamrah or Khamrah Qahwa, Oud for Greatness, Y EDP, Layton, Acqua di Gio Profumo.
That's it. That's the entire Indian fragrance YouTube universe.
"Top 10 summer fragrances 2025" is the same list. "Best office fragrances" is the same list. "Compliment monsters under 5K" is the same list with prices changed.
Meanwhile there's an entire world of underrated stuff nobody talks about. Encre Noire Sport, Mancera Cedrat Boise clones, Room 1015 stuff, Goldfield & Banks, half the Lattafa catalog beyond Khamrah, French Avenue's actual hidden gems, Parfums de Marly Greenley clones, and so on.
The result? Walk into any mall in Bangalore, Delhi or Mumbai and every guy smells like Sauvage or Dylan Blue. Zero individuality. The hobby is supposed to be about expressing yourself, not joining a uniform.
I get it, they need views and the algorithm rewards safe content. But it's making the Indian fragrance scene boring and homogenous.
What are some genuinely underrated fragrances you wear that you've never seen recommended by an Indian YouTuber?
