In short, if there's a screen involved (Phone, Tv, Games) I get sucked in. I miss conversations, I don't hear other things going on (the example brought up was the dogs whining to be let out) and she's afraid it will be on her to focus on everything. Even when I try to stay focused on the conversation if there's a movie or show in the background it slowly sucks me in. Is this a hardware issue where, without meds, my brain is physically incapable of multitasking like this, or is it a software issue where I can change behaviors and find a way to not tunnel vision? For some context, my diagnosis was pretty recent, maybe 6-8 months ago, and my diagnosis is relatively mild.

For context, I am a car guy, but I have too many ideas and I'm mostly familiar with GM products. I work in construction and have been putting 25000 miles a year on my truck. With gas prices rising, I'm heavily considering something more fuel efficient. I'm also in Michigan so cars tend to rot out. All of this considered, I'm looking for something cheap ($5000 ish or less), good on gas, and minimal issues beyond regular maintenance. Cars I've considered:

Chevy S-10 with the 2.2

GM W-body with the 3.8

Saturn sedan of any kind

Honda Civic (Need recommendations on year/engine)

Toyota Corolla (need year/engine recs)

Any other advice or recommendations are appreciated and encouraged. Thanks in advance
