My husband’s father recently died and I will be attending the funeral with him. His family dislikes me and do not hide their feelings. There is a dinner afterwards which we will be attending. There will be another meal later in the evening. I am not interested in going to this and being ostracized. I will bite the bullet for the first meal, but want to skip the second gathering. My husband is free to do as he chooses and I would never presume to tell him what to do. But, at this point he is angry with my decision. I have remained silent for years and am just tired of their treatment of me. What would you do if placed in this position?
