Two years back, a girl I used to frequently interact with stopped talking to me all together because I bluntly said something to her that she didn’t like. I didn’t know it was rude until after.
Some time ago, my friend was telling me about her morning routine and whilst listening to her, I gave her solutions and she told me that I was being annoying after a few of my comments.
I began noticing that when my friends tell me a story, my first response are either solutions or questions to help me find solutions for them even when they didn’t ask for it. I’ve tried my best to think before I speak, but even then, I genuinely don’t know or understand how some things I say is rude.
I’m not sure if I’m meant to ask if they want me to listen or if they want a solution or am I meant to assume?
