I have a question and have been searching for an answer and can’t find one. I think maybe the way I’m phrasing it Doesn’t help. I figure I will try here.
I rent in Toronto. My landlord and I agreed on post dated cheques when I signed the lease in August. Fast forward to February I noticed my bank account has more money than usual.I am looking though my bank as for some reason didn’t put 2 and 2 together. I pay my bills and come March, 3 months of rent is taken out of my account all out once. I freak out because I had multiple messages from my bank flagging this
I check my account and the amounts stated in the messages and I was able to see it’s my rent. I emailed my landlord flagged this concern and asked for rent to be taken out as stated on our contract the first of the month. He acknowledged it and agreed.
I’m wondering is there any law on this or this is just what it is? if this happens again what can I do or emailing them all I can do?
