I switched 3 lines from AT&T and did not have to pay a down payment but at T-Mobile I do

I never had to put a down payment for phones at AT&T when I upgraded there. Always paid my bills except for medical copays and deductibles which I know hurt my credit score. I now have to put a large $369 down payment if I wanted to upgrade a Galaxy S24 Ultra to an IPhone 17 Pro Max even with a $1100 trade in credit on an experience beyond plan. In this case, I have no plans to upgrade now. But what worries me is that I plan upgrading at least 2 maybe 3 lines to the IPhone 18 Pro Max in about 6 months. It sucks that I am on the most expensive plan and still will have to pay a large down payment on the iPhones. I hope in about 5 months of on time payments will waive the requirement of almost $1500 in down payments across upgrading different lines instead of being forced to use rebate cards just to make a down payment on locked iPhones since the Costco unlocked iPhones are too expensive to buy all at once even with rebate cards. Guess I will try to ask T-Mobile rep if they can lower or waive down payment requirements when those phones come out.

Called T-Mobile Costco hotline and rep gave me details of plans and promos but told him that I am already working with someone. Then, he called me back and said he would give me an IC so I opened a plan last Wednesday.
Contact tforce that I did not get $50 credit for getting T-Mobile credit card and she said it was not offered when I applied but gave a $50 credit because it is available to others.
Finally, contacted Tforce that I opened 3 byod lines and got the $250 rebates but the rebates had increased to $400 rebates for a difference of $450 on 3 lines. She gave me a $450 credit on T-Mobile bill. My experience this time was exceptional instead of disappointment and frustration with my past experiences with them last year.😊

If anyone opened a line earlier this week and just applied for $250 rebate, then contact tforce and they may give you the difference.

I read her on Reddit that T-Mobile credit card was offering a $50 sign up bonus and would help a T-Mobile rep at a store if I signed up with one of them. I have family who work in the difficult roles of retail sales always having to worry about their numbers. I thought I help a retail sales rep sign me up for it so I called a T-Mobile store a couple miles away and the employee said there is no $50 promotion but can help me set up autopay so I declined and signed up and got approved for T-Mobile credit on t life app without $50 bonus.

I logged onto t life app and now is offering a $50 bonus if I apply for T-Mobile credit card…which I obviously cannot because I got approved for one 2 days ago😡! Big slap in the face. I sent a message on x to tforce and hoping they help.

UPDATE:🙂

That is just what I needed, so thank you!

Although this offer is something that just started and was not available at the time you signed up, I am going to go ahead and honor that by placing a credit on your account today. Since you were approved, this gives me some backing on making this out of the box offer for you.

This will make sure you get the full value of the offer we have going. Did you have any questions about this or anything more I can help resolve for you today?
