A lot of engineering can be attributed to the need for accurate time keeping, and the benefits for maritime travel if mechanics could accurately maintain time. However, the understanding of radio waves was not that far behind. How do you think engineering would be different if instead of a mechanical clock used to tell time across the oceans if a radio signal was sent out and picked up by ships to track time?
