I plotted the damage from Death Fire Touch vs Electrocute on a AP build to compare their scaling.
Interestingly before your first big item Electrocute out-damages Death Fire Touch (DFT) in most realistic scenarios. But DFT scales much better with items than Electrocute if you manage to apply it for ~6+ seconds.
Other interesting observations:
- Looking at the Electrocute chart, the jump in damage when buying Rabadon is much lower than the jump when buying Stormsurge, Shadowflame or even mPen boots! This is because its AP ratio is very low, but its flat scaling with levels is decent, so mPen items do a lot of work.
- The AD scaling of DFT is quite high! A 10 second DFT burn is equivalent to a spell with a scaling of 107% Bonus AD and 38% AP
