Hi everyone,

I’m a bit confused and wanted to ask if anyone has experienced something similar.

I moved to California from Belgium and I already had a Belgian driver’s license. I went to the California DMV, passed the written test, and then a few months later I received my full California driver’s license directly by mail.

The thing is: I never took the driving test (road test).

I requested my driving record and it shows my license as VALID and expire in 2030

So my question is:

  • Has this ever happened to anyone else?
  • Or could this be an administrative error?

Thanks!
