currently drunk off some french 75s and yeah this place lives up to the hype. i’m not super well versed in french food but man was this GOOD! i went with family and had a bunch of food - baked oysters, french onion soup, tartare, raviolo, steak frites , lyonnaise salad plus dessert. everything was a banger. i almost cried after tasting the french onion soup… so cheesy with the bread topping soaking up all the delicious broth. nuts. tartare was another favorite bite of the night. and of course the steak frites. absolute perfection. also love how tiny and close together the tables are. no music but just the overlapping chatter of everyone talking. such a good vibe. i already want to eat here again!!!

i know i’m not alone when i say i love the duck inn. admittedly, we almost always order the same thing: the dog, the curds, and some drinks. the sausage on the dog is insane - super snappy, juicy without being too greasy, and it has a nice charred flavor. the relish, pickles, and pepper and a nice hit of freshness and acidity to balance out the sausage too. if you ever want an elevated version of a chicago dog, this is the place to go. i think the cheese curds from here are also the best in the city. they’re super chewy with an extremely light and crispy batter which makes them very addicting. the service is always great, and it’s just such a cool vibe no matter if you’re inside or out on the patio. 10/10 establishment
