BKL New Moon, New Me as a Topper?!

I fell in love with a color recently (lights lacquer enemies to lovers, blue green base with champagne magnetic particles) finally got a bottle from a destash here on reddit. When I got it, the particles were bigger than I had expected based on swatch photos online, and didn't pull nicely into a glass bead.

So I wanted to try to dupe it. I don't have Jen and Berries Champagne Spray, which I know would be perfect for this... Oh well.

I had hoped BKL New Moon, New Me would be light enough in its base to work, since the magnetic particles leaned very champagne gold and. It. Worked. So well that I had to layer it over several other base colors I had around. It does slightly, very slightly, mute the base color since New Moon had a gray/brown base, but it's so subtle.

All topped with New Moon, New Me, and 1 coat of Olive and June Quick Dry Top Coat. Magnetized in the 5d spinner with a 30 lb mag on top. I am wearing New Moon, New Me on my thumb.

Direct sunlight to my own shadow. Has more range than this is different indoor lighting as well.

I used a random Amazon clear chrome powder over top, and it for sure floated since I don't have the right top coat, but it just blends in with the shimmer the polish already had. It muted the colors juuuuust a bit (which was my goal) cause polishes that are very bold colors are so fun, but tend to look odd on my skin tone. Still get all the shifts, just a bit calmer.
