These are pictures of my biological mother, Oksana.

I was born in Ukraine in the 2000's, adopted at 2 with my biological siblings into America. About a year after I was adopted, Oksana died. My American adoptive parents used to email Oksana and the man in the photos, (Reçep, later boyfriend), with a language barrier.

From all of the info and stories my adoptive mom could remember, we apparently don't know who my dad is. The man in the photos is a later boyfriend, not related.

My mom says she thinks my dad could be from Turkiye or somewhere in that region of countries, all we know about my father is that his name was Artëm and he was studying in Turkiye to be a doctor, but we aren't sure if he was Turkish or else.

I have two siblings, aN older brother and older sister. I believe my brother and I are fully related as we look similar, both brunettes, similar facial structure, features; and my sister is half related, her being blonde with green eyes, a different father.

I will soon be able to do a DNA test so I'm hoping I get some more insight with whatever info they give me.

Unfortunately, due to my limited knowledge in Ukrainian and Russian being adopted, finding any online sources like the actual orphanage I was at and any records through name searches were virtually impossible. Is there any website or resource or anything I would be able to find to learn more about my origins, or is the DNA test the best bet?

▲ 2 r/Hair

For context, I'm a natural 2B-2C texture. I've already completely fried my hair a couple years ago after discovering hair straighteners, soI've been heat damaged for a while before starting to learn how to treat and style my hair naturally starting around 2024. First 3 hotos are current time taken just now, and the rest are past photos of my natural hair before I started thinning.

And I have plenty of good guesses to why I've been thinning, just I've never known what to do with my damaged hair, especially now that I going through hair loss.
