All the sources I've found say that Jack was in row 23. How is it that a well-renowned doctor isn't flying in First or Business Class?

I love movies that are about boats or ships that disappear only to reappear years later. However, there aren't too many of these movies around and I think I've seen them all.
Are there any movies I'm missed?
