Went to a running shop at the weekend to have a gait analysis and fitting for a new pair of trainers. They did the manual measurements and a 3d scan of my feet that both sized me at a UK 10.5.

My issue is that wearing trainers at a 10.5 feels really big and flappy to me. I usually have been wearing size 9/9.5 and wear dress shoes every day in a 9 (which I imagine aren't very forgiving compared to trainers, though I feel like I have good room in them).

Is there a different in sizing recommended for running trainers in general? I had done a 10k run about an hour before the fitting, is there a chance this sizing essentially already includes a "swelling" of the feet?

Appreciate any advice!
