I’m thinking about deleting the rear muffler on my CR-Z just to test the sound and eventually build a custom end pipe myself (I can weld).

My main concern is:

could exhaust fumes or heat affect the IMA system (battery, cables), or cause issues with heat/smoke under the chassis if the exhaust ends earlier?

Has anyone tried running without a rear muffler?
