My wife and I never got a honeymoon and have floated the idea of going to Japan for it and I got this tattoo before I even proposed so wasn’t done after wanting to go there but she said I’d likely need to wear sleeves to cover up my tattoo. Would it be that big of a deal?

Edit: Thank you all for your experience and advice it really helps. Mostly i was concerned if it would be considered cultural appropriation (I’m white) and really don’t want be by the typical “American bro”. I love my art and wear it proudly, and to me it is just art but don’t want to be racist inadvertently.

Avoid public bathhouses, gyms, and beaches, unless i can cover them, and make sure to get UV rated sleeves or high SPF sunscreen! Yall rock
