Hey everyone,
I’m an Indian student currently exploring options to study abroad for my bachelor’s, and Italy has recently caught my attention—mainly because of the DSU/regional scholarships.
Here’s my profile:
Class 12 (PCM): 91%
Class 10: 73%
Family income: less than ₹5 lakh/year
Family assets: around ₹11–12 lakh in land
From what I’ve researched, I might qualify for DSU/EDISU scholarships, but I want some real, ground-level insights from people who are already in Italy or have gone through the process.
My questions:
With my financial background, what are my realistic chances of getting full DSU benefits (scholarship + accommodation + meals)?
How reliable is the scholarship actually? I’ve heard payments can be delayed—does that cause serious issues?
How manageable is living in Italy as a student (especially part-time jobs and monthly expenses)?
For someone planning long-term, is it a good idea to do bachelor’s in Italy and then move to another country (like Germany/Netherlands) for master’s or jobs?
Any mistakes you made or things you wish you knew before coming?
I’m trying to make a smart, long-term decision—not just go abroad for the sake of it—so I’d really appreciate honest advice.
Thanks in advance!
