FIV??
My cat has been on and off three rounds of prednisone. It goes away while she is on the medicine but 2 weeks after she is off it, it starts getting infected again. She has an abcess from a cat fight. We believe it was just from the cat that embedded her claw into her head. When this initially happened in early March the vet said she didn’t believe to see any bites. She is having surgery to remove the tissue/abscess on 5/27. Could she have FIV bc infections keeps coming back? The vet tried squeezing and nothing comes out so don’t believe anything is still in there. But she does play outside still so maybe it’s getting reinfected bc she’s rolling in dirt & hiding in bushes? Thoughts as to why it keeps getting reinfected? Nervous she has FIV. I did do bloodwork for her Thursday but I don’t have the results back yet. I have some but not all and FIV is one of the ones I don’t have yet… so I’m worried that’s why it’s taking so long is because she is positive. Originally was told Thursday I’d have the results Monday but Friday when I went to pick up medicine I asked and all were back but heartworm and FIV.. the other vets can see her records and results so I think if it was back yesterday the other vet would’ve told me bc she’s the one who told me about the other one when I asked Friday. My normal vet is out til tomorrow
