Hi, I was a tourist in warhammer 40k universe for more then 10 years I think, just occasionally getting into warhammer mood by playing games and listening to lore videos on youtube. But recently I finally decided to get into hobby seriously by reading some books and actualy trying to assemble first minis and playing with them. The problem is, I really like alpha legion colours, armor and their focus on intelligence and espionage, but I dislike chaos very much... so I want to make my main army imperial fists with an emphasis on vehicles, but before that I consider whether I should to start something easier by making my first minis alpha legion of a combat patrool size.

So the question is, if I am so disgusted by the idea of playing by chaos and using chaos models - should I even try? Although I know that I can paint my minis to my liking and make any head canon that this is some loyalist fleet based warband, I still wanna be as close as possible to the lore and play by a normal astartes rules. Is this realy viable at all? Plus, I don't really understand, if I decide to do so, what models should I even buy in that case, if i will only use officiall store. Are 30k models will be normal to use in 40k games, or will they look to much out of place?

So many questions, but I cannot answer them myself, so I request help from you brother's Alphariuses.
