Super excited for this commission to come

Me and my bf LOVE the second season that’s finally coming out and I’ve loved DoroHeDoro since the first season came out so the lack of merch has been a pain in the ass.

We found an artist who makes little 3” felt plushes as long as they can sketch the characters and they sent the sketches last night. I could not be more pleased!!

This is my second time having a Savannah monitor, but the last time I had one I was 13 and the information about them is vastly different from then now.

I got this monitor about 2 months ago presumed wild caught as usual but quite skinny. We also guessed dehydration since expos and WC tend to be. We’ve gotten some weight on him(?) I plan to start weighing to track the gain/check for loss. We feed exclusively insects, mostly dubia, crickets, and occasional super worms.

I’d love some opinions, suggestions, etc on his current tank. Obviously a monitor who can get upwards of 4’ will be getting a new tank in a year or two but we’re trying to make sure he isn’t stunted. I just want to make sure the temp tank is suitable to an animal that spends several hours a day in there despite us handling as much as possible especially as it gets warm outside as we’d like him to be comfortable harnessed as he ages incase of vet visits.

The substrate is a mix of compost, sand, tiny fish tank pebbles, top soil, rotting wood chips, charcoal chunks, leaf litter, worm castings, and some oak bark. I do plan on adding a layer of leaf litter for some arid clean up crews to start working.

TLDR; Got an emaciated WC Savannah monitor 2 months ago and want opinions on my current tank as he will be growing and gaining weight/recovering in it.
