Hey guys,

I just picked up a Ducati Hypermotard 698 RVE and the whole quickshifter thing is new to me, so I’m not sure if I’m using it correctly.

It feels like it works about 95% of the time, but that remaining 5% is throwing me off a lot. For example, when I’m shifting up from 4th to 5th under aggressive throttle (around 8–9k RPM), it sometimes struggles to go into gear, the bike either kinda jerks and stays in the same gear, or jerks for like 1.5s and then goes into gear. I’ve also noticed similar behavior occasionally from 3rd to 4th.

On downshifts, there are moments where it just doesn’t want to go down a gear even though I have the throttle closed. I’m not totally sure what RPM range I should be in for smooth downshifts with the quickshifter.

I’ve heard people say quickshifters are supposed to feel “butter smooth,” so I’m wondering if this is just a skill issue on my end or if something might be slightly off with the setup.

Any tips for using the quickshifter properly on this bike? Or is this kind of behavior normal?

Thanks!

Hi guys,

I am looking for new gloves for the road, currently I have "Alpinestars SP-8". The problem is that after a longer ride my hands get sweaty which irritates my skin, later creating itchy bumps.

Can anyone recommend me some well ventilated gloves that also offer decent protection for the slide? The ones I currently have are vented, but they only work when I hold my hand at around 45 degree angle, only then the airflow goes through properly. Unfortunately, that's not the case during normal riding.

Thanks!
